Tom Callinan, SVP Cincinnati

Tom Callinan is the McMicken Professor of Journalism at the University of Cincinnati. In December 2010, he retired from his role as Editor and VP Content and Audience Development, Enquirer Media, Cincinnati. In his 35 year career with Gannett Co. Inc, Tom edited newspapers including the Arizona Republic, Rochester Democrat and Chronicle and Lansing State Journal; he was Executive Editor of the Fort Myers News-Press and Washington/World Desk Editor of USA Today. An active member of SVP Cincinnati, Tom has served as a board member of the Greater Cincinnati Literacy Network, the Ohio Literacy Coalition, the Society of Professional Journalists, the Ohio Newspaper Association and the Associated Press Managing Editors’ board.  He is a long-time literacy tutor.  With SVP Cincinnati, Tom has been involved with marketing and recruitment, putting his experience in communication, marketing and audience development to use.
