Ruth Jones, Chief Executive Officer

Ruth Jones joined SVPI as Executive Director in 2006. Prior to moving to the United States, Ruth was Manager of Operations at Community Foundations of Canada, and General Manager of Philanthropy Australia, the membership association for Australia’s private, family, corporate and community foundations.  She was Chief Executive of the Australian Film Institute for five years, before deciding to focus on working within the philanthropic sector. At SVPI, Ruth oversees daily operations, affiliate and SVPI Board relations and fundraising for the organization. Rona Pryor, Program Director

Rona Pryor joined SVPI in 2003 after working for a variety of nonprofit organizations in the areas of fundraising, communications and operations. A Northwest native, she has devoted her many talents to local theatre, publishing, music festivals and a humanitarian aid organization. At SVPI, Rona develops tools and resources designed to implement best practices throughout the network. Elizabeth Benedict, Communications Director

Elizabeth Benedict joined SVPI in 2011 as Communications Director.  She is deeply committed to philanthropy and brings 27 years of nonprofit experience to SVPI in fund development and communications.  Additionally, she knows firsthand of SVP’s value as she has worked for two SVP investees for the past 7 years.  Elizabeth’s primary role is to develop and execute a comprehensive communications strategy to include: branding, messaging frameworks, press outreach, web development, social media, publications and marketing materials, and public engagement opportunities.  Much of that will include capturing and telling the powerful stories that we see in social investing!  Prior to moving to Seattle, Elizabeth lived in the  Washington, DC area, Detroit  and Louisville, and spent 2.5 years in Senegal, West Africa while a Peace Corps volunteer.  She hits the running  trail every chance she gets.  Phone Elizabeth: 206.728.7872 Email Elizabeth

Katalin Marky, Administrative Coordinator

Katalin joined the SVPI team in November 2010 after completing her masters degree in public administration at the University of Washington. A native of Hungary, Katalin moved to Seattle nine years ago. She taught German at the Washington Academy of Languages and the German Language School. She later worked for Corbis Corporation providing customer and technical support associated with intellectual property management. Katalin completed internships  with the Committee for Children and the Washington Toxics Coalition. At WTC, she organized and trained constituents to lobby for the “Safe baby bottle Act.” At SVPI, Katalin supports all programs, events and operations. She also manages the network’s Salesforce database. Katalin also holds degrees in Political Science and Teaching German as a Foreign Language from Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest.
