Andy Williamson, SVP Calgary
Andy became a partner of SVP Calgary in 2002 and served on the ’03-’04 Grant Committee, an experience which helped to ignite a passion for the SVP model and the organization. He is an SVP Calgary Board member and also Chair of the Recruiting Committee and enjoys sharing the SVP story with prospective partners. A strong supporter of the International network, he has attended the Annual Conference every year since joining SVP. He has served as an SVPI Director since 2005 and is currently the Chair of the Nominating and Governance Committee. Andy and wife Krystyna were honored to receive the SVP Paul Shoemaker Leadership award in 2009.
Andy has over 25 years experience in the oil and gas industry as a Geophysicist, including international postings in Colombia, Argentina and Ecuador. He is currently on an exciting assignment with a Canadian-based company exploring for oil and gas in East Africa. He received his Bachelor of Science in Engineering Geophysics from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada.
Andy and wife Krystyna (SVP Calgary Board member) lead a busy family life with daughters Maryna and Evalina (active philanthropists in their own right). They are deeply involved in church life and serve as a sponsor couple for marriage preparation for engaged couples. The family shares a passion for the outdoors and the arts, and enjoys travel, hiking, skiing and music. Andy continues to play drums in many genres including writing, recording and playing live shows with a Calgary rock band (mostly for charity, of course). Career highlight was drumming at Cleveland’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with SVPI’s “Limited Capacity”.
